Harry Winston

Harry Winston

In 1932, gemologist Harry Winston founded the company bearing his name in New York. He’s famous, among other things, for owning and then donating the Hope Diamond to the Smithsonian Institution in 1958. Known as the “King of Diamonds,” he acquired Arabella Huntington's jewelry collection (wife of railroad magnate Henry E. Huntington) for $1.2 million in 1926 and redesigned the collection with a more contemporary aesthetic. This firmly established Winston as a master jeweler. His philosophy was that the gemstones themselves dictated the design, not the settings. A favorite among Hollywood elites, Harry Winston offers unique high jewelry, engagement rings, and timepieces with in-house design and production, and boutiques in North America, Europe, and Asia.
