Lalique

Lalique

Following an apprenticeship with craftsman and jeweler Louis Aucoc in the late 19th century, company founder René Lalique opened his first workshop in 1885 in Paris. His early pieces combined a range of materials, from precious metals and stones to more ordinary yet visually interesting elements, and stood out for originality and creativity. Several years later, his focus would shift to enamel and glass, and he partnered with perfumer François Coty to create very popular bottle designs. It wasn’t long before he became a renowned Art Deco master glassmaker. His granddaughter became CEO in 1977 and refocused on jewelry, and today Lalique offers products in several categories, including jewelry, homeware, perfume and art. Jewelry is offered for both men and women, and include rings, pendants, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, brooches, cufflinks and tie clips. Costume jewelry is accessibly priced, but the fine jewelry portfolio can reach five figures. This luxury brand is among France’s greatest Art Nouveau jewelry designers with extensive collections of glassware and interior furnishings as well.
