Austrian label Swarovski was founded in 1895 by Daniel Swarovski and has always been independent and family owned (now in its 5th generation). Famous for its crystal works, divisions also include jewelry and optics. Daniel worked at his father’s glass factory and patented an electric cutting machine in 1892 that helped in the production of crystal glass. After founding the company, his vision was to provide "a diamond for everyone" with affordable crystals. His son Wilhelm created customized binoculars in 1935, which led to Swarovski Optik, still producing binoculars, telescopes, and scopes today. Best known for glass sculptures, collections also include elaborate chandeliers and jewelry. The company has partnered with brands like Victoria's Secret, who designed a perfume bottle with Swarovski crystals, and the Royal Canadian Mint.
