Versace
Founded by Gianni Versace in 1978, luxury Italian fashion brand Versace produces high-end custom lines, ready-to-wear, and leather goods. The Versace logo is the head of Medusa from Greek mythology. The brand is known for bright colors and flashy prints. With clients including Elton John and Michael Jackson, Versace gained a bit of a “Rock n' Roll” reputation. Versace dresses, such as a green silk chiffon piece worn by Jennifer Lopez at the 2000 Grammy Awards, have been voted as among the most iconic of all time. Michael Kors acquired the brand in 2018, but its distinct collections remain as Donatella Versace (Gianni’s sister) stayed as Creative Director. The brand has partnered with Lamborghini, Ford, and H&M in the past, and currently has fashion branded hotels, Palazzo Versace, in the Middle East and Asia.
